number two doubles as the Vikings defeated North Central
5-0 to advance to the championship match of the CCIW's
Automatic Qualifier.
ROCK ISLAND, Ill. – Augustana easily advanced to the final of the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin's Automatic Qualifying Tournament on Friday, April 29 at the Lower Campus Courts with a 5-0 win over North Central. The Vikings, who won the AQ Tournament last year with a thrilling 5-4 victory over Wheaton, will now face the winner of the Wheaton/Carthage semi-final in the championship round on Saturday, April 30 at 11:00 a.m. at the Quad City Tennis Club in Moline, Illinois.

Aileen MacDonald (Mundelein HS, Mundelein, Ill.) defeated Kelsey Forkin and Clare O'Connor 8-5. Junior
Lauren Goggin (Buffalo Grove HS, Arlington Heights, Ill.) and sophomore
Mollie Magee (Olathe East HS, Overland Park, Kan.) defeated Katie Drone and Kassandra Bernardo 8-2 at number two. The number three team of freshmen
Caitlyn Schaffer (Kenwood Academy, Chicago, Ill.) and
Madeline Lombardi (Edwardsville HS, Glen Carbon, Ill.) beat Marisa Coladipietro and Karissa Schroeder 8-1.
In singles action
Lauren Goggin beat Drone 6-1; 6-1 at number one and Schaffer took care of Schroeder 6-1; 6-1 at number five. The other four singles matches were unfinished because the match ended when the Vikings reached five points.
Augustana is now 24-7 overall and that ties the school record set by last year's 24-9 team.
