04/24/16 – AUGUSTANA 9, ST. NORBERT 0
Vikings roll past St. Norbert to up record to 22-7
ROCK ISLAND, Ill. – Despite playing without junior standout
Dana Goggin (Buffalo Grove HS, Arlington Heights, Ill.), Augustana had no trouble dispatching St. Norbert on Sunday, April 24 in non-conference women's tennis action at the Lower Campus Courts.
Dana Goggin, who normally plays number one doubles and number two singles, sat out the match but her teammates certainly picked up the slack.
The number one doubles team got shuffled a bit as senior
Aileen MacDonald (Mundelein HS, Mundelein, Ill.) teamed with freshman
Caitlyn Schaffer (Kenwood Academy, Chicago, Ill.). MacDonald and Schaffer clawed their way to a tough 9-8 win over Erika Chitko and Elizabeth Manlick to complete a 3-0 sweep of the doubles matches.
Junior
Lauren Goggin (Buffalo Grove HS, Arlington Heights, Ill.) and sophomore
Mollie Magee (Olathe East HS, Overland Park, Kan.) beat Katlyn Gahan and Stephanie Doerfert at number two doubles 8-3. At number three doubles freshman
Madeline Lombardi (Edwardsville HS, Glen Carbon, Ill.) and junior
Amy Even (Downers Grove South HS, Downers Grove, Ill.) beat Maggie Krummel and Claire Hetzel 8-1.
Lombardi had a tough match at number six singles, eventually winning over Krummel 4-6; 6-1; 10-4 but hers was the lone contest that didn't end in two sets.
Lauren Goggin beat Chitko 6-4; 6-1 at number one and Magee defeated Manlick 6-4; 6-4 at number two. MacDonald defeated Gahan 6-2; 6-1 at number three singles while Schaffer beat Doerfert 6-3; 6-2 at number four. Junior
Vicki Andonova (Downers Grove South HS, Westmont, Ill.) beat Hetzel 6-0; 6-1 at number five.
The Vikings, currently ranked 13 in the NCAA Division III Central Region, moved to 22-7 overall while St. Norbert fell to 14-9.

Augustana beats Luther 9-0 to move to 23-7 on the year
ROCK ISLAND, Ill. – After beating a St. Norbert team that was 14-8 coming into the match in the morning, Augustana took care of another solid club in the afternoon on Sunday, April 24 at the Lower Campus Courts. Augustana is now 23-7 overall heading into the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin's Automatic Qualifier on Friday, April 29 and Saturday, April 30 in Rock Island.
Like the match against St. Norbert, the Vikings played without a starting performer. While
Dana Goggin sat out the St. Norbert contest, it was Magee who did not play against Luther. Augustana didn't miss a beat, winning all three doubles to jump out to a 3-0 lead and then sweeping the singles in straight sets.
Schaffer moved into Magee's spot at number two doubles and teamed with
Lauren Goggin to pick up an 8-5 win over Jackie Cychosz and Britta Pressler. At number one doubles, MacDonald and
