DUBUQUE, Ill. – Augustana won 18 of 20 individual matches Saturday, including eight that earned bonus points, in downing MacMurray and Dubuque in dual meets at the University of Dubuque. The Vikings manhandled the Highlanders 54-0 and defeated the host Spartans 28-6. Coach Eric Juergens' squad improved to 4-1 in dual action this season. On Thursday, December 8, the Vikings will be back in Dubuque to face Loras in a 7:00 p.m. dual meet.

Freshman Trent Jackson (Moline HS, Moline., Ill.) got Augustana rolling with an 11-7 decision over Dylan Holliday at 125 and sophomore Freddy Terranova (Memorial HS, Jackson, N.J.) and junior Brendan Gould (Assumption HS, Bettendorf, Iowa) followed with technical falls at 133 and 141, respectively. Terranova improved to 10-2, finishing off Vincent Piunti 20-4 in 4:36 and Gould upped his season mark to 7-5, downing Braeden Clopton 17-2 in 4:16.
 
Freshman 157-pounder Josh Bush (Moline HS, Moline, Ill.) sandwiched another technical fall in between Viking forfeit wins at 149 and 165. Bush took 5:00 to pile up a 24-5 margin over Tyler Young.
 
Freshman Bo Bauer (Olympia HS, Stanford, Ill.) recorded Augustana's first pin, sticking Ron Evans in 5:44 at 174 pounds to put his team up 36-0. The fall evened Bauer's record at 4-4 on the season.
 
Junior Christos Giatras (Lemont HS, Lemont, Ill.) and sophomore Adarios Jones (Moline HS, Moline, Ill.) wrapped a pair of pin falls around another forfeit win at 197. At 184, Giatras pinned Trevor Kleckner in 3:00 and at 285, Jones took 2:18 to stick Trevor Wilson.

Against the Spartans, Jackson opened with a 14-9 decision over Javier Guillen at 125, improving to 5-6 on the year.
 
Dubuque took a 6-3 lead with David Ortega and Jeremy Melendez scoring 3-0 and 4-1 decisions over Terranova and Gould at 133 and 141, respectively.
 
Senior Matt Sears (Marist HS, New Lenox, Ill.) upped his season mark to 9-5 and knotted the team score at six-all with a 5-1 win over Blake Howerton at 149. Bush put the Vikings on top 12-6, completing an 11-point night with a pin of Mark Griffin in 3:43 at 157. Bush is now 5-6 on the year.
 
Trace Timmons (Assumption HS, Bettendorf, Iowa) scored a 5-4 decision over Patrick Mooney at 165. The win upped the junior's record to 7-1 and extended Augustana's advantage to 15-6.
 
Junior 174-pounder Nick Torres (Lincoln-Way Central HS, Manhattan, Ill.) moved to 4-7 with an 11-3 major decision over Roosevelt Smith and the Vikings finished of the meet by winning decisions at the top three weight classes. Giatras upped his record to 7-2 with a 10-3 win over Ethan Cain at 184. At 197, senior Ethan Benoit (Marist HS, Oak Lawn, Ill.) won his team-leading 11th match (against four losses), defeating Dominic Sterr 3-1 and at 285, Jones remained unbeaten at 9-0, scoring a 9-3 victory over Daniel Cesilles.
