Senior Dana Goggin won both of her singles and doubles matches Saturday,
as Augustana remained unbeaten in dual-meet play with wins over Elmhurst
(8-1) and St. Ambrose (7-2) at the Lower Campus Courts.
ROCK ISLAND, Ill. – Despite being riddle with injuries, Coach
Jon Miedema's Augustana women remained unbeaten in dual-meet action this year with wins over Elmhurst and St. Ambrose Saturday at the Lower Campus Courts. The Vikings downed the Bluejays 8-1 in the morning and the Bees 7-2 in the afternoon. Augustana improved to 10-0 on the season and 7-0 in the CCIW.

The Vikings won their ninth dual meet in as many outings this year and their seventh straight in the CCIW, downing the Bluejays 8-1 in the morning.

Vicki Andonova (Downers Grove South HS, Westmont, Ill.) and sophomore
Madeline Lombardi (Edwardsville HS, Glen Carbon, Ill.) got things started with an 8-1 win over Hannah Vaselaney and Kathryn Wheeler. Augustana's top two doubles outfits each scored an 8-4 win. Senior

Caitlyn Schaffer (Kenwood Academy, Chicago, Ill.) defeated Ava Kolman and Rachel Rettger at number one and senior
Lauren Goggin (Buffalo Grove HS, Arlington Heights, Ill.) and freshman
Zeana Badawi (Hinsdale Central HS, Hinsdale, Ill.) bested Chiara Gaudio and Dacey Magalque at number two.
In singles, the Vikings were victorious at the top five spots.
Lauren Goggin beat Kolman 6-4, 6-4 at number one. At number two,
Dana Goggin was a love, love winner over Gaudio. At third singles, it was Schaffer downing Rettger 6-2, 6-3 and Badawi got the better of Tori Liewergen 6-0, 6-4 at number four. Andonova won three and three over Vaselaney at number five and Lombardi suffered a 6-2, 7-5 setback to Wheeler at number six.
The Bluejays dropped to 3-5 overall and 2-4 in the conference.

Already competing without regular
Mollie Magee (Olathe East HS, Overland Park, Kan.), Augustana took on St. Ambrose without top singles player
Lauren Goggin.
With just five healthy players, the Vikings were forced to default at sixth singles and third doubles. However, with each singles player moving up a slot and Miedema's usual third doubles team playing at number two, Augustana still swept the seven matches that were played.
The Vikings won each doubles match by an 8-1 score.
Dana Goggin and Schaffer beat Mary Alice Oswalt and Sammy Carr and Andonova and Lombardi defeated Alex Horton and Nikki Steiner.
Playing at first singles,
Dana Goggin notched a 6-1, 6-0 win over Oswalt. Schaffer was a love, love winner over Carr at number two and Badawi defeated Horton 6-2, 6-0 at number three. Andonova and Lombardi won at fourth and fifth singles, respectively. Andonova downed Shannon Shovlain 6-0, 6-1 and Lombardi bested Shannon McEachern 6-4, 6-0.
On Saturday, October 15, Augustana will host rival Wheaton at the Lower Campus Courts at 1:00 p.m.
