Senior Nicole Morrissey had 11 kills in Augustana's four-set victory at Dubuque Tuesday.
DUBUQUE, Iowa – Augustana bounced back from a first-set loss Tuesday to take three straight from Dubuque and improve to 21-6 on the season. The host Spartans dropped to 13-12 on the year.
Dubuque rallied from an early 9-5 deficit to win the first game. Kendall Kaufmann had a pair of kills as the Spartans won nine of 11 points to go on top 14-11. The Vikings battled back to achieve ties at 18, 22 and 23-all, but two more Kaufmann kills closed out the set, 25-23 in favor of the Spartans.

Kelly Bethke's outfit broke open a tight game four by winning six straight points to take an 18-12 lead. Kibir-Evans had a pair of kills in the run. An Alyssa Cose kill got the hosts within 22-20, but one by senior
Amy Kalkhoff (Clear Creek Amana HS, North Liberty, Iowa) and two by Morrissey finished off the match for the Vikings.
Westermeyer, with 13 and Kibir-Evans and Morrissey, with 11 each, led Augustana in kills. Senior
Hannah Lindaman (North Scott HS, Eldridge, Iowa)—named CCIW Defensive Player of the Week earlier in the day—had 20 assists and junior
McKenzie Zambrano (Rock Island HS, Rock Island, Ill.) added 13. Lindaman (three) and Rood (two) combined for five service aces, while Kalkhoff came through with 24 digs, VanEarwage 20 and Rood 11.
The Vikings are back in action on Friday, October 21, hosting their namesakes from North Park in a 7:00 p.m. match at Carver Center.
