AUGUSTANA 3, UW-PLATTEVILLE 1 (25-16; 25-19; 18-25; 25-21)

The Vikings took four straight points after a 4-all tie and were never really challenged in set one against the host Pioneers. A Kalkhoff kill off a Lindaman assist gave the visitors their biggest lead of the game at 19-8. Set point in a 25-16 win came on a VanEarwage kill with Zambrano assisting.

With Lindaman serving, Augustana won the first five points of game two. Morrissey had a pair of kills in the team's hot start. UW-Platteville eventually cut a seven-point deficit to three, but consecutive kills by Kibir-Evans, senior Rachel Butter (Moline HS, Moline, Ill.) and Kalkhoff finished off a 25-19 Viking win.

The Pioneers prevented Augustana's second sweep of the evening, winning set three by a score of 25-18. They broke a 7-all tie by winning five straight points. The Vikings battled back to tie it at 18-all on a Zambrano ace, but Platteville captured the final seven points.

Augustana bounced back to clinch the match with a 25-21 fourth-set win. The Vikings never trailed and broke the game open with five straight points that extended their lead from 13-11 to 18-11. Kibir-Evans had a pair of kills in the run. Trailing 20-12, the Pioneers responded by winning eight of 10 points to get within 22-20, but Morrissey came through with two kills before one by Kibir-Evans provided match point.
