Jon Miedema's Augustana tennis team Sunday. After big wins over Wabash and Monmouth Saturday, the Vikings suffered a 9-0 setback at the hands of sixth-ranked Chicago at the Quad-City Tennis Club.
Number one Sam Totten
(University HS, Normal, Ill.) had Augustana's best singles performance, falling to Charlie Pei by a score of 6-1, 7-6. At number three singles,
Patrick Lenz (Villanova Prep, Ojai, Calif.) dropped a 6-2, 6-3 decision to the Maroons' Luke Tsai.
In doubles play, freshman
Jack Morkin (University HS, Bloomington, Ill.) and
Carl Christensen (Hoellviken, Sweden) turned in the Viking's most competitive effort, falling to Pei and Peter Leung 8-4 at number two.
On Saturday, February 6, Augustana travels to Mount Vernon, Iowa to face Cornell in a dual meet scheduled for 12:30 p.m.
