ELMHURST, Ill. – An early hole was too much to overcome and Augustana was never able to catch up in a 69-48 loss at Elmhurst in College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin action on Wednesday, January 27. The Vikings fell behind 18-12 after the first quarter and trailed 32-20 at halftime and 55-33 following three quarters.

Elmhurst scored the first eight points of the contest to take an early 8-0 lead but the Vikings ripped off 10 straight of their own to claim a 10-8 advantage following a basket by freshman Corrie Reiley (Prophetstown HS, Prophetstown, Ill.) at the 4:28 mark. The Bluejays closed out the quarter on 10-4 run, however, and were never headed after that.
