ROCK ISLAND, Ill. – Overcoming a slow start, Augustana recovered and won three straight games to defeat Wartburg 3-1 (17-25; 25-20; 25-21; 25-12) in non-conference volleyball action in the Carver Center on Tuesday, September 8. Wartburg scored the first six points of the opening set and went on to post a fairly easy 25-17 win in game one. From that point on, however, the match belonged to the Vikings as they dealt the Knights their first loss of the season after opening with four straight victories over the weekend.

Senior libero Kylie Siebert (Kaneland HS, Sugar Grove, Ill.), who was honored before the game after breaking the school record for career digs over the weekend at the Bluffton Tournament in Bluffton, Ohio, had a team high 36 digs with one assist and one service ace.

Junior Hannah Lindaman (North Scott HS, Eldridge, Iowa) was credited with 24 setting assists with 14 digs and a kill. Senior Jordan Hampel (Hilliard Davidson HS, Hilliard, Ohio) chipped in with 16 assists, six digs and a service ace.
