Augustana defeated North Park and Loras at the Lower Campus Courts.ROCK ISLAND, Ill. – Augustana ran its record to 4-0 with a pair of women's tennis victories on Monday, September 7 at home. The Vikings defeated North Park 9-0 in the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin opener for both teams in the morning at the Quad City Tennis Club in Moline, Illinois. The action shifted to the Lower Campus Courts in the afternoon but the results were the same as Augustana beat Loras in non-conference action 9-0.
Augustana will split its squad on Wednesday, September 9 with a home CCIW match against Millikin while some members of the team will travel to Galesburg, Illinois to face Knox in non-conference action.

The contest was originally scheduled for the Lower Campus Courts but was switched to the indoor facility due to an early morning thunderstorm.
The venue didn't matter as
Jon Miedema's Vikings blitzed the visitors from the start, winning all three doubles matches to take a 3-0 lead. The number one team of junior
Dana Goggin (Buffalo Grove HS, Arlington Heights, Ill.) and senior
Aileen MacDonald (Mundelein HS, Mundelein, Ill.) had a bit of a struggle before finally dispatching Lisa Daniels and Jasmin Madrid 8-5.
While the number one match was close, the other two weren't as both ended with 8-0 Augustana victories. At number two the team of sophomore
Mollie Magee (Olathe East HS, Overland Park, Kan.) and junior
Lauren Goggin (Buffalo Grove HS, Arlington Heights, Ill.) defeated Vilde Olvin and Juni Vinlian 8-0. The number three team of freshmen
Caitlyn Schaffer (Kenwood Academy, Chicago, Ill.) and
Madeline Lombardi (Edwardsville HS, Glen Carbon, Ill.) beat Marlee McCabe and Katie Chlebourn 8-0.
Lauren Goggin defeated Daniels 6-4; 6-2 at number one singles and
Dana Goggin beat Madrid 6-2; 6-2 at number two. Magee won a three set decision (6-7; 6-3; 10-3) over Olvin at number three. MacDonald, Schaffer and Lombardi won at numbers four, five and six respectively by identical shutout scores of 6-0; 6-0.

The Vikings won four singles matches by scores of 6-0; 6-0 and in doubles they only allowed a total of five points in the three matches.
Miedema switched his lineup just a bit in the second match of the day but it certainly didn't slow down the Augustana attack.
Magee and
Lauren Goggin opened up the match with an 8-1 win over Jessica Dickhut and Sam Pietruszynski at number one doubles. Juniors
Vicki Andonova (Downers Grove South HS, Westmont, Ill.) and
Amy Even (Downers Grove South HS, Downers Grove, Ill.) defeated Emma Cooke and Maggie Clements 8-2 at number two. Sophomore
Rachel Kammerzelt (The Prairie School, Union Grove, Wis.) and senior
Lauren Kaczmarek (Glenbard South HS Lombard, Ill.) beat Tara Shingler and Rachael Molidor at number three by a score of 8-2.
The Vikings won the first three singles positions by scores of 6-0; 6-0.
Dana Goggin beat Dickhut at number one, MacDonald defeated Cooke at number two and Schaffer beat Clements at number three.
Lombardi won 6-2; 6-0 over Pietruszynski at number four. Andonova beat Molidor 6-0; 6-0 at number five and sophomore
Macy Koepke (Cary-Grove HS, Cary, Ill.) won 6-1; 6-1 at number six over Tara Shingler.
