Junior Jacqueline Kibir-Evans had 24 kills in two
matches at the Elmhurst Invitational this weekend.ELMHURST, Ill. - Augustana suffered a loss each day Friday and Saturday at the Elmhurst Invitational. On Friday, September 25, the Vikings fell to 10th-ranked Wisconsin-Stevens Point in a five-game match. On Saturday, September 26, they lost to Wisconsin-La Crosse in three sets. Coach

Wisconsin-Stevens Point 3, Augustana 2, (25-13; 13-25; 25-18; 21-25; 15-8) Playing a grueling five game match against a strong University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point team, Augustana fell to the Pointers in game five 15-8. The match was the Vikings' first of the weekend at the Elmhurst College Invitational in Elmhurst, Illinois. Stevens Point moved to 13-2 on the season, while the Vikings fell to 7-5.
The five-game match was truly a back-and-forth shuffle. Stevens Point opened with a 25-13 victory, but Augustana rallied and won the second game with the same score of 25-13. The same pattern proceeded as the Pointers came back and took game three 25-18, while the Vikings stole game four 25-21. In the pivotal fifth set, Augustana ended up falling to Stevens Point 15-8.
Regardless of the tough loss, senior libero
Kylie Siebert (Kaneland HS, Sugar Grove, Ill.) picked up 31 digs on the night.

Martha Murray (Evanston HS, Evanston, Ill.) and junior
Jacqueline Kibir-Evans (Trinity HS, Forest Park, Ill.) contributed 14 kills each. Junior
Nicole Morrissey (Lake Zurich HS, Lake Zurich) added eight.
Junior
Hannah Lindaman (North Scott HS, Eldridge, Iowa) was credited with 26 assists. Senior
Jordan Hampel (Hilliard HS, Hilliard, Ohio) chipped in 14.
The Pointers' Gabby Thomas had 14 kills, and Brittany Laffin had 49 assists.
Wisconsin La-Crosse 3, Augustana 0, (25-23; 25-19; 25-22) On Saturday, Kibir-Evans led the Vikings in kills with 10, and Murray came in close behind with seven. Sophomore
Maissie Musick (Central HS, Camp Point, Ill.) contributed four blocks.
Siebert delivered 13 digs, while Murray chipped in 12.
Lindaman and Hampel split time at setter and had 17 and 10 assists, respectively.
The Eagles' Maddie Entinger accumulated 36 assists, with Danica Johnson picking up 20 digs. Stephanie Henk put down 13 kills for the 10-4 Eagles.
