The Augustana women's tennis team established a new school record for dual meet
victories in a single season with an 8-1 win at Luther on Sunday, April 19. The win gave
the Vikings a 21-8 overall record, breaking the old mark of 20 set by the 2010-11 team
that finished the year 20-9.

An interesting road trip turned historic on Sunday, April 19 as the Augustana women's tennis team set a new school record for single season dual meet victories. Head coach Jon Miedema loaded his squad on vans early in the morning and headed first for Dubuque, Iowa and later for Decorah, Iowa. Both stops proved to be successful as the Vikings defeated Loras 9-0 in the morning and then handled Luther 8-1 in the afternoon.

With the win over Luther, Augustana established a new school record for single season wins. The Vikings are now 21-8 on the year and currently ranked 18th in the NCAA Division III Central Region. In an ironic twist, the 2014-15 team broke the record set in 2010-11 when Augustana went 20-9 under the direction of then-head coach Adam Strand. Strand is currently the head coach at Luther.

Augustana will play next in the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin's NCAA automatic qualifying tournament on April 24-25.

AUGUSTANA 8, LUTHER 1

The school record 21st victory came in convincing fashion over a Luther program steeped in tradition in women's tennis. T
