Augustana was an 8-1 winner over the Storm.MOLINE, Ill. – Coach John Miedema's Augustana men's tennis team improved to 3-2 in dual meet competition this season with an 8-1 victory over Simpson Sunday at the Quad-City Tennis Club. The Vikings won all three doubles matches and five of six in singles.
Freshman Sam Totten
(University HS, Normal, Ill.) was a double winner for Miedema. He and classmate
Eric Pohl (Fremd HS, Palatine, Ill.) defeated Connor Barnard and Jeff Armstrong 8-0 at first doubles and Totten won love, love over Peter Reitgraf at number one singles.
At number two singles, it was juniors
Austin Schoeck (Alleman HS, Rock Island, Ill.) and
Harald Olsson (Hersby Gymnasium, Stockholm, Sweden) scoring an 8-1 victory over the Storm's Adam Weiser and Aaron Smith. Junior Jack Alexander
(Rockford Guilford HS, Loves Park, Ill.) and sophomore
Nicholas Prabhakar (Rockford Lutheran HS, Belvidere, Ill.) defeated Reitgraf and Gabe Dubberke by the same score at third doubles.

Patrick Lenz (Villanova Prep, Ojai, Calif.) was a 6-1, 6-0 winner over Barnard at second singles, with
Jonathon Elsey (York HS, Elmhurst, Ill.) beating Armstrong 6-0, 6-2 at number three.
Adderly Clark (Glenbrook North HS, Oak Park, Ill.) won 6-4, 6-4 over Weiser at fourth singles and freshman
Arthur Kasteel (Netherlands) bested Dubberke 6-2, 6-3 at number six. Freshman
Anthony Steinle (Fort Collins HS, Fort Collins, Colo.) suffered the Vikings lone setback, falling 7-5, 4-6 to Smith at fifth singles.
On Saturday, February 14, Miedema takes his squad to Mount Vernon, Iowa to face Cornell in a 2:00 p.m. dual meet.
