Junior Amy Kalkhoff led the way with 10 kills as Augustana
won for the fourth straight time to even its record at 12-12 on
the season. Kelly Bethke's squad improves their overall record to 12-12 on the season with its fourth straight victory and is now 2-4 in the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin.
In defeating the Thunder for the first time since 2010, the Vikings snapped a five game losing streak to Wheaton. Augustana took control of the court early on edging out the Thunder in a close game one with a score of 26-24 before dominating games two and three by scores of 25-14 and 25-16.
Junior
Amy Kalkhoff (Clear Creek Amana HS, North Liberty, IA) had a nice overall game with 10 kills, two blocks, and six digs. Junior
Jacqueline Kibir-Evans (Trinity HS, River Forest, Ill.) recorded eight kills, and senior
Martha Murray (Evanston HS, Evanston, Ill.) helped the Vikings with seven kills.

Kylie Siebert (Kaneland HS, Sugar Grove, Ill.)had a team high of 13 digs on the night.
Claire Martin (Mother McAuley HS, Orland Park, Ill.) came in closely behind with seven digs.
Junior
Hannah Lindaman (North Scott HS, Eldridge, Iowa) was credited with 20 assists and three aces. Senior
Jordan Hampel (Hilliard Davidson HS, Hilliard, Ohio) chipped in with 15 assists and two aces.
Wheaton's Shelby Knowles had 16 kills for the Thunder and Ashley Torok contributed 16 assists.
Augustana will next be in action on October 23 and 24. The team will revisit Wisconsin to take on Wisconsin-Whitewater at 3:00 p.m. and Webster at 7:00 p.m. in Whitewater on the 23rd. On the 24th, Augustana will travel to Madison, Wisconsin to play Edgewood at 2:30 p.m.
