Vikings impressive in 3-0 victory over Bethel

The Vikings snapped a five match losing streak with a 3-0
win over Bethel on Friday, October 16 in LaCrosse, 
Wisconsin.

LACROSSE, Wis. – After losing five straight matches, two of them to nationally ranked opponents, Augustana broke back into the victory column with a 3-0 (25-21; 25-15; 25-23) win over a good Bethel team at the LaCrosse Invitational on Friday, October 16 in LaCrosse, Wisconsin. With the win the Vikings now go to 9-12 on the season while the Royals fall to 15-8.
 
Senior Sydney Sand (Burlington Central HS, Elgin, Ill.) and junior Nicole Morrissey (Lake Zurich HS, Lake Zurich, Ill.) led the offensive attack for Augustana with 10 kills apiece. Senior Martha Murray (Evanston HS, Evanston, Ill.) picked up seven kills.
 
Senior Kylie Siebert led the defensive effort with a game high 22 digs while junior Hannah Lindaman (North Scott HS, Eldridge, Iowa) was credited with 32 setting assists and three service aces.
 
The Vikings will resume action with matches against Central of Iowa (10:30 a.m.) and host Wisconsin-LaCrosse (12:30 p.m.) on Saturday, October 17.
