Senior Miranda Pence won four matches (two in singles and two in
doubles) as Augustana defeated Cornell (7-2) and Wisconsin-Oshkosh
(9-0) on Sunday in Mt. Vernon, Iowa.MT. VERNON, Iowa – Two non-conference victories on a sun-splashed Midwestern day pushed the Augustana women's soccer team to 6-1 on the season. The Vikings, playing their third and fourth matches in just over 24 hours, defeated Wisconsin-Oshkosh (9-0) and Cornell (7-2) in Mt. Vernon, Iowa on Sunday, September 7.
AUGUSTANA 9, WISCONSIN-OSHKOSH 0 The Vikings were hitting on all cylinders in a 9-0 win over Wisconsin-Oshkosh and it started with doubles. Augustana swept the doubles fairly easily and were never really threatened after that.

Mollie Magee (Olathe East HS, Overland Park, Kan.) beat Hannah Bostwick and Brianna Theobald 8-5 at number two. Seniors

Chelsea Lavin (Downers Grove South HS, Downers Grove, Ill.) reunited as the number three doubles team and handed Llora Waldman and Maggie Bolton an 8-1 defeat.
Lauren Goggin tossed a shutout at Van Riper at number one singles, winning 6-0; 6-0 while
Dana Goggin beat Sagen 6-1; 6-3. Magee also blanked her opponent, beating Waldman 6-0; 6-0 at number three and Pence defeated Jessica Stark 6-1; 6-0 at number four. Freshman
Rachel Kammerzelt (The Prairie School, Union Grove, Wis.) beat Paige Ganser 6-1; 6-0 at number five and junior
Lauren Kaczmarek (Glenbard South HS, Lombard, Ill.) took care of Bostwick 6-1; 6-0.
AUGUSTANA 7, CORNELL 2 A clean sweep of the doubles was the key in this one as the Vikings beat the Rams 7-2. The Goggin twins beat Ariana Hudson and Shashanna Moll 8-3 at number one doubles and Magee and Andonova defeated Gabriella Ferro and Julia Thome 8-1 at number two. Pence and sophomore
Amy Even (Downers Grove South HS, Downers Grove, Ill.) won at number three doubles by a score of 8-1 against Kezia Koroma and Katie Mintle.
When it came the singles Augustana won four of six to account for the final score.
Lauren Goggin beat Hudson 6-1; 6-1 at number one. Magee beat Thome 1-6; 6-1; 6-2 at number three and Pence defeated Moll 6-4; 0-6; 11-9 at number four. Freshman
Alyssa Reuter (Oswego HS, Oswego, Ill.) took home a victory at number six by winning 6-1; 6-1 against Mintle.
Dana Goggin dropped at hard fought three-set match at number two (6-0; 5-7; 10-12) against Koroma and Andonova also went three sets in her match at number five before falling 7-6; 5-7; 7-10 at Ferro.
