The Vikings are now 11- on the season.ROCK ISLAND, Ill. – Battling back from a 2-1 deficit after three sets, Augustana rallied for a hard-fought 3-2 victory over Illinois Wesleyan at the Carver Center on Wednesday, September 24. The Vikings won the first game 25-23 before losing sets two (22-25) and three (23-25). They rallied to win the fourth 25-20 and took the decisive fifth by a count of 15-9 in the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin opener for both teams.

Kylie Siebert (Kaneland HS, Sugar Grove, Ill.) set the tone defensively for the Vikings with 41 digs. She also has two setting assists and a service ace.
The hitting leadership on this night was shared by junior
Martha Murray (Evanston HS, Evanston, Ill.) with 11 kills and just three errors in 38 attempts with 15 digs and two assisted blocks while sophomore
Jacqueline Kibir-Evans (Trinity HS, River Forest, Ill.) also had 11 kills. Kibir-Evans did not have a hitting error in 24 attempts and hit at a .458 clip. She had eight digs and four total blocks (two block solos and two block assists).
Senior
Emily Leazer (St. Viator HS, Mount Prospect, Ill.), senior
Hailee Brayton (Peru St. Bede Academy, LaSalle, Ill.) and sophomore
Nicole Morrissey (Lake Zurich HS, Lake Zurich, Ill.) all added nine kills. Leazer had 23 digs with two service aces, one block solo and one blocking assist. Brayton was credited with two block solos and six blocking assists while Morrissey had three digs and two assisted blocks.
Junior
Jordan Hampel (Hilliard-Davidson HS, Hilliard, Ohio) led the team in setting assists with 28 and had nine digs and a service ace while sophomore
Hannah Lindaman (North Scott HS, Eldridge, Iowa) had 24 assists and 10 digs.
Kyleigh Block led Illinois Wesleyan in kills with 13 while Maddie Greybar had 12. Mary Rankin recorded 24 digs and Colleen Rynne had a team-high 18 setting assists.
Augustana moved to 11-1 on the season and 1-0 in the CCIW while Illinois Wesleyan fell to 7-8 and 0-1. The Vikings will participate this weekend in the University of Chicago Tournament on Friday, September 26 and Saturday, September 27.
