North Park 9-0 in CCIW action on Tuesday.
CHICAGO, Ill. – Augustana pitched a shutout at North Park in College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin women's tennis action on Tuesday, September 24 in Chicago, Illinois. The Vikings handled the host by a score of 9-0 to run their record to 11-2 overall and 5-2 in CCIW action.

The league victory was part of an unusual double header for the Vikings, who left half the team back in Rock Island for a non-conference match with Dubuque. While that portion of the team was securing a 7-2 win over the Spartans, the bunch that head coach Jon Miedema took to Chicago was rolling past North Park. It was the fourth straight 9-0 conference win for the Vikings.

Against North Park, Augustana jumped out to a 3-0 lead after doubles play. Sophomores Lauren Goggin (Buffalo Grove HS, Arlington Heights, Ill.) and Dana Goggin (Buffalo Grove HS, Arlington Heights, Ill.) picked up an 8-3 win over Lisa Daniels and Juviel Vinluan at number one doubles by a score of 8-3. The number two team of freshman Mollie Magee (Olathe East HS, Overland Park, Kan.) and sophomore Vicki Andonova (Downers Grove South HS, Westmont, Ill.) beat Garette Gessert and Marlee McCabe 8-5. The Vikings' number three team of senior Miranda Pence (Oswego HS, Oswego, Ill.) and junior Lauren Kaczmarek (Glenbard South HS, Lombard, Ill.) blanked Danielle Pivonka and Dana Maglaque 8-0.

After the doubles play, Augustana continued to roll in singles. Lauren Goggin defeated Daniels 6-3; 6-3 at number one singles and Dana Goggin won 6-4; 6-0 over Gessert at number two.  Magee, who earlier in the day was named the CCIW's "Player of the Week" beat Vinluan 6-0; 6-1 at number three.

Pence picked up a 6-0; 6-1 win over McCabe at number four and Andonova defeated Pivonka 6-0; 6-0 at number five. Kaczmarek beat Maglaque 6-0; 6-1 at number six.

The Vikings will now be off until October 4 when they will host Wisconsin-Stevens Point and St. Francis at the Lower Campus Courts.
