Freshman Rachel Kammerzelt won twice at number six singles as Augustana defeated
Illinois Wesleyan and Millikin by scores of 9-0 on Sunday, September 14.Augustana head women's tennis coach
Jon Miedema took his team on a successful, and unique, road trip on Sunday, September 14 and the result was exactly what the Vikings needed. Less than 24 hours after losing to defending College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin champion Wheaton by a score of 8-1 at home, Miedema's bunch went on the road and picked up two league wins. What made the trip unique was the fact that each match was played in a different city.
The Vikings started things off with a 9-0 victory over Illinois Wesleyan at 10:00 a.m. in Bloomington, Illinois and when that ended they got in the van and drove the 50-plus miles to Decatur, Illinois where they met Millikin in a match starting at 3:00 p.m. After taking care of the Big Blue by the score of 9-0 Augustana came back home with an 8-2 overall record and a 3-2 mark in the CCIW.
