Junior Jordan Hampel totaled six service aces and 34 setting
assists as Augustana defeated Knox and MacMurray on
Wednesday night in Galesburg. The Vikings are now 9-1
on the season.GALESBURG, Ill. – Impressive non-conference victories over Knox and MacMurray in a double dual on Wednesday, September 10 in Galesburg, Illinois allowed the Augustana volleyball team to push its overall record to 9-1 on the season. The Vikings made short work of Knox and MacMurray, taking each match in three sets. They defeated the host Prairie Fire by scores of 25-20; 25-18; 25-12 and then beat the Highlanders 25-12; 25-17; 25-20.

Kelly Bethke was able to dig deep into her roster on Wednesday afternoon and evening, playing 17 players against Knox and 14 against MacMurray.
AUGUSTANA 3, KNOX 0 (25-20; 25-18; 25-12) This match took less than an hour as the Vikings were in control throughout, winning the first game by the score of 25-20 and then picking up 25-18 and 25-12 victories in games two and three. Senior
Emily Leazer (St. Viator HS, Mt. Prospect, Ill.) and sophomore
Nicole Morrissey (Lake Zurich HS, Lake Zurich, Ill.) were the kills leaders with eight apiece. Leazer had seven digs and a setting assist while Morrissey had three digs and a solo block. Junior
Martha Murray (Evanston HS, Evanston, Ill.) picked up six kills with five digs and senior
Dory Dudley (Tremont HS, Tremont, Ill.) added five kills, two digs, an assisted block and a setting assist.

Jordan Hampel (Hilliard Davidson HS, Hilliard, Ohio) had 22 assists with six service aces while sophomore
Hannah Lindaman (North Scott HS, Eldridge, Iowa) had 14 assists, six digs and a service ace. Junior
Kylie Siebert (Kaneland HS, Elburn, Ill.) led the team in digs with 14 and she had two setting assists.
AUGUSTANA 3, MACMURRAY 0 (25-12; 25-17; 25-20) Dudley put away 15 kills and added two assists and two digs to lead the Vikings to a 3-0 sweep of the Highlanders. Leazer chipped in with five kills , 16 digs, two blocking assists and a service ace.
Hampel had 12 setting assists while Lindaman was credited with 11 assists and four digs. Siebert had 12 digs, two service aces and a setting assist.
Augustana had 14 blocks during the match with freshman Maissie Musick
(Camp Point Central HS, Camp Point, Ill.) leading the way with four.
