ELMHURST, Ill. – Despite taking a 2-1 lead after doubles Augustana fell to Elmhurst for the second time in less than a week, this time by a score of 5-2 in the semi-final round of the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin tournament on Friday, May 2. The Vikings, now 16-11, will finish the season with the third place match at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 3.

Lawrence Palmer (Schiller International School, El Prat de Llobregat, Spain) and senior
Andy Wall (Notre Dame Academy, DePere, Wis.) won at number one singles, beating Alex Harbert and Will Jung 8-6. The number three team of freshman
Connor Woolf (Evanston HS, Evanston, Ill.) and sophomore
Austin Schoeck (Rock Island Alleman HS, Rock Island, Ill.) beat Vincent McPherson and Quinn Jennings 8-6.
Augustana's number two team of seniors
Colin Arnold (Sterling HS, Sterling, Ill.) and
Kevin Bayles (Homewood-Flossmoor HS, Flossmoor, Ill.) dropped a narrow 8-6 decision at number two doubles to Luke Tanaka and Chris Harrison.
Heading into singles play, the Vikings were unable to pick up a victory.
Jung beat Wall at number two 6-3; 7-6 while McPherson defeated Bayles 6-2; 6-2 at number three. Tanaka got the best of Arnold 7-5; 6-0 at number four and Chris Harrison beat sophomore
Patrick Lenz (Villanova Prep, Ojai, Calif.) 6-1; 6-1 at number six.
Palmer and Harbert were unable to finish the number one singles match as were Jennings and Woolf at number five.
