WHEATON, Ill. – Augustana dropped a 7-2 decision to Wheaton on Friday, April 25 in College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin men's tennis action in Wheaton, Illinois. The Vikings fell behind 2-1 after doubles and then were able to win just one of six singles matches. Augustana falls to 15-9 overall and 3-2 in the CCIW while the Thunder climbs to 16-4 and 4-1.

Kevin Bayles (Homewood-Flossmoor HS, Flossmoor, Ill.) and
Colin Arnold (Sterling HS, Sterling, Ill.) picked up a hard-fought 8-6 win at number two doubles over Justin Ancona and Matt Steiner for the lone Viking point in doubles. Freshman
Connor Woolf (Evanston HS, Evanston, Ill.) and sophomore
Austin Schoeck (Rock Island Alleman HS, Rock Island, Ill.) lost a heart-breaking 9-8 decision at number three to Derek Mumaw and David Buursma.
The lone victory for Augustana in singles came at number six where sophomore
Patrick Lenz (Villanova Prep, Ojai, Calif.) beat Andrew Trump 7-5; 6-0. Woolf went three sets with Buursma at number five before falling 2-6; 6-4; 7-10.
The Vikings will play at Elmhurst today to close out the dual meet portion of the 2014 season.
