CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – Overcoming a sweep in doubles against Wisconsin-Oshkosh and dealing with the number seven ranked team in the region in Coe proved to be too much for the Augustana men's tennis team on Saturday, March 15 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. The Vikings lost 5-4 to the Titans and fell 9-0 to the Kohawks to fall to 8-6 overall on the season.

Lawrence Palmer (Schiller International School, El Prat de Llobregat, Spain) fell to Bobby Brooks and Kevin Lewis. Seniors
Colin Arnold (Sterling HS, Sterling, Ill.) and
Kevin Bayles (Homewood-Flossmoor HS, Flossmoor, Ill.) lost 8-6 at number two and sophomore
Austin Schoeck (Rock Island Alleman HS, Rock Island, Ill.) and freshman
Connor Woolf (Evanston HS, Evanston, Ill.) fell by the same score at number three.
Down 3-0, Augustana battled back. Palmer defeated Brooks 6-3; 6-2 at number one and Bayles handled Mike Gillespie 6-2; 6-3 at number three. Arnold beat Aidan Sauberlich 6-1; 6-0 at number four and sophomore
Patrick Lenz (Villanova Prep HS, Ojai, Calif.) picked up a 1-6; 6-1; 10-7 win over Alex Yang at number five.
COE 9, AUGUSTANA 0
Coe is the seventh ranked team in the Central Region and the Kohawks proved it against the Vikings. Arnold and Bayles at number two doubles and Woolf and Schoeck at number three both dropped 9-8 decisions. Arnold and Bayles fell to Ryan Hickman and Michael Janssen while Woolf and Schoeck lost to Sean Stokstad and Mark Kroll.
Woolf also dropped a narrow 6-7; 5-7 decision to Kroll at number six singles.
