Foresters defeat Augustana 150-81 in women's swimming

Senior Jamie Graf anchored the Vikings' second place 200 medley relay team and took third 
in both the 50 freestyle and the 100 breaststroke as Augustana fell to Lake Forest in a 
dual meet on Sunday, November 16 in Lake Forest, Illinois.
LAKE FOREST, Ill. – Lake Forest won all 13 events and defeated Augustana 150-81 in women's swimming and diving action on Sunday, November 16 in Lake Forest, Illinois. It was the first loss of the season for first year head coach Dan Lloyd's team after the Vikings defeated Loras at home on Friday, November 7.
 
Augustana finished second in six individual swimming events and in both relays.
 
The 200 medley relay team of sophomore Allison Patch (Moline HS, Coal Valley, Ill.), freshman Sara Hovren (University HS, Bloomington, Ill.), junior Emma Novak (Eden Prairie HS, Eden Prairie, Minn.) and senior Jamie Graf (Lincoln-Way Central HS, Putnam, Ill.) placed second in 2:10.94. The 200 freestyle relay of freshman Kristin Schoenecker (Edwardsville HS, Glen Carbon, Ill.), Hovren, sophomore Brittney Crawford (Coal City HS, Coal City, Ill.) and freshman Nicole Olsen (Plainfield East HS, Romeoville, Ill.) closed the meet with a second place finish in a time of 1:56.61.
 
Olsen took second in both the 50 freestyle (:29.29) and the 100 freestyle (:1:06.09). Patch was second in the 100 backstroke (1:12.89) and fourth in the 200 freestyle (2:23.63). Novak grabbed second place finishes in both the 100 butterfly (1:11.57) and the 400 freestyle (4:54.95). Junior Jordan Johnson (Appleton North HS, Appleton, Wis.) was second in the 100 breaststroke in 1:21.99.
 
Schoenecker placed third in the 800 freestyle in 10:33.46 and third in the 100 backstroke in 1:14.22. Graf was third in the 50 freestyle (:29.75) and the 100 breaststroke (1:22.91). Crawford was third in the 200 individual medley in 2:42.26 while freshman Christine Marchi (Jacobs HS, Algonquin, Ill.) was third in the 100 butterfly in 1:24.37 and fourth in the 400 freestyle (5:38.64). Senior Laura Pemberton (Fremont HS, Fremont, Neb.) placed third in the 100 freestyle in 1:07.30 and fourth in the 100 breaststroke in 1:27.31. Freshman Lisa Pohlman-Zordan (Lincoln-Way West HS, New Lenox, Ill.) was third in the 400 freestyle (5:36.16) and fifth in the 200 freestyle (2:36.83).
 
Junior Megan McGregor (Lincoln-Way East HS, Mokena, Ill.) was third in both the one (193.75) and three (171.60) meter diving events.
 
Hovren took fourth in the 200 individual medley in 2;43.09 while senior Alexis Thompson (Crystal Lake Central HS, Lakewood, Ill.) was fourth in the 100 butterfly in 1:28.09. Senior Mackenzie Corrie (Midland HS, Charleston, Ill.) placed fourth in the 100 freestyle in 1:18.28 and freshman Elena McNab (Romeoville HS, Romeoville, Ill.) was fourth in the 100 backstroke in 1:27.83.
 
Augustana's next competition will be on Saturday, November 22 at the Illinois Wesleyan Invitational in Bloomington, Illinois.
