ROCK ISLAND, Ill. – Three pins helped spur Augustana to a 38-6 dual meet victory over Wisconsin-Platteville on Wednesday, November 13 at the Carver Center. It was the first dual meet of the season for both teams and the Vikings won eight of the 10 weigh classes in pushing their all-time series lead over the Pioneers to 23-12-2. It was the fourth straight win for Augustana over UW-Platteville and the sixth in the last seven meetings.
 
Sophomore Jimmy Panozzo (Carl Sandburg HS, Orland Park, Ill.) opened the match with a pin over Zach Stenger at 3:16 in the 125 pound match. Junior Connor Cummings (Downers Grove North HS, Woodridge, Ill.) won by fall over Robbie Kerr at 165 pounds, just beating the second period buzzer to stop the match at 4:59. Junior John Schraidt (Riverside-Brookfield HS, Riverside, Ill.) took just 35 seconds to dispatch of Kyle Andeare at 285 pounds.
 
Junior David Tessiatore (Downers Grove North HS, Downers Grove, Ill.) beat Aaron Knudtson 18-3 at 157 and Thomas Reyhons (Davenport Assumption HS, Davenport, Iowa) defeated Nathan Schmitz 6-0 at 184 pounds. Sophomore Isaiah Schaub (St. Francis HS, Traverse City, Mich.) bumped up a weight class at the last minute and defeated Emeric Williams 6-3 at 149.
 
Junior Alex Bowers (Noblesville HS, Noblesville, Ind.) went to overtime to knock off Randy Wade 3-1 and freshman CJ Sojka (Glenbard West HS, Glen Ellyn, Ill.) won by forfeit at 133 pounds.
 
Augustana will now host Dubuque and Knox in dual meets on Saturday, November 16 in the Carver Center.
