Volleyball beats Central of Iowa to move to 11-6

WINONA, Minn. – The one-two offensive punch of sophomore Martha Murray (Evanston HS, Evanston, Ill.) and senior Morgan Stittleburg (Black River Falls HS, Black River Falls, Wis.) helped lead Augustana to a 3-1 victory over Central of Iowa in the third round of action in the St. Mary's Invitational on Saturday, October 5.  The Vikings dropped the first set to the Dutch 25-15 but bounced back nicely and recorded wins of 25-19; 25-17 and 25-15 to move to 11-6 on the season while Central of Iowa falls to 6-15.
 
Murray had 13 kills with four errors in 38 attempts with nine digs, three service aces and two assisted blocks. Her hitting percentage was .237. Stittleburg came through with 13 kills and just three errors in 28 attempts for an attack percentage of .357. She had a dig and an assisted block.
 
Freshman Nicole Morrissey (Lake Zurich HS, Lake Zurich, Ill.) had six kills with two digs and an assisted block. Junior Samantha Kammerman (Sherrard HS, Milan, Ill.) put down four kills with four total blocks (one solo and three assists), three digs and a service ace. Freshman Jacqueline Kibir-Evans (Trinity HS, Forest Park, Ill.) had four kills with two assisted blocks and a dig.
 
Sophomore libero Kylie Siebert (Kaneland HS, Sugar Grove, Ill.) led the team in digs with 19 and she had 11 setting assists and one service ace. Sophomore setter Jordan Hampel (Hilliard-Davidson HS, Hilliard, Ohio) led the team in assists with 23 and she had 11 digs and three service aces. Freshman setter Hannah Lindaman (North Scott HS, Eldridge, Iowa) picked up eight assists with five digs and a service ace.
