Vikings fall to St. Mary's in three sets

WINONA, Minn. – Augustana dropped a 3-0 decision to St. Mary's on Saturday, October 5 in the St. Mary's Invitational in Winona, Minnesota. The Vikings, who fell in three of four matches in the tournament, are now 11-7 overall heading into a College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin match on Tuesday, October 8 at home against Elmhurst.
 
Sophomore Martha Murray (Evanston HS, Evanston, Ill.) and junior Hailee Brayton (Peru St. Bede Academy, LaSalle, Ill.) led the Vikings with eight kills apiece. Murray had four digs while Brayton added an assisted block. Junior Dory Dudley (Tremont HS, Tremont, Ill.) posted five kills with three assisted blocks and two digs while freshman Jacqueline Kibir-Evans (Trinity HS, Forest Park, Ill.) had five kills and five assisted blocks.
 
Freshman setter Hannah Lindaman (North Scott HS, Eldridge, Iowa) led the team in setting assists with 16 and she also had six digs. Sophomore Jordan Hampel (Hilliard-Davidson HS, Hilliard, Ohio) picked up 11 assists, five digs and one kill. Sophomore libero Kylie Siebert (Kaneland HS, Sugar Grove, Ill.) led the team with 16 digs and three service aces.
