Lettered four years in track & field and four years in cross country…TRACK: Still ranks second on school’s all time list in three mile run with time of 14:06.5…Upon his graduation he owned school records in two mile (9:11.1), three mile (14:06.5) and six mile (29:51.2) as well as being a member of the school record four mile relay team that clocked 17:17.4…Earned NCAA Division III All-American honors in the three mile in 1974 when he finished second in the national meet, helping Vikings to sixth place team finish…Team captain in 1974…CROSS COUNTRY: Top seven performer for all four years…Earned NCAA Division III All-American honors as a senior in 1973 when he was 19th in national meet while team finished sixth…He ran in four NCAA national cross country meets and was member of teams that placed 12th  (1970), ninth (1971), 16th (1972) and sixth (1973)…Twice he placed fifth in the CCIW…Had a best five mile time of 24:28…Set a freshman school record of 26:04 over five miles in 1970…Was named team MVP three times in a row (1971, 72, 73)…Set course record with time of 20:30 over four miles against Northeast Missouri State in 1973…Team captain in 1973…Placed second at Luther All-American Invitational, which was then called Norseman Invitational, in 1973.
