Flavius Sten was a four year starter on the Augustana basketball team and was named captain of the Viking cage squad in 1913-14. He also participated in baseball and tennis and later served as a coach at his alma mater.

His athletic endeavors didn’t cease following his graduation in 1914. He remained active in tennis and added bowling to his interests, gaining special recognition as the first person ever to bowl a perfect 300 game in the Montana State League Tournament.

Sten served as an administrator with the Anaconda Copper & Mining Company of Montana for 43 years, retiring to Arizona in 1959. He died in 1975.
