Augustana College Athletics

The Reverend David Ekstrom was a starting offensive guard on the Augustana football teams of 1915-18 and was named to the all-time All-Augustana football team in 1930 by the Observer and the Viking football staff. He served as captain of the team and was widely recognized as one of the finest offensive lineman in the Midwest during his playing days.

He graduated from Augustana in 1918 and entered the ministry, serving as Pastor of Bethlehem Evangelical Lutheran Church of St. Charles for 38 years. He served on the Board of Charities of the Augustana Conference for 12 years and was Curator of the Historical Society for seven years.
